EADS North America appoints James Hvizd as Vice President of Tanker Transport Programs

James J. Hvizd has joined EADS North America as Vice President of Tanker Transport Programs, further reinforcing the company’s executive team during a period of continued growth and development in the U.S. defense, homeland security and aerospace markets.

Hvizd will be the lead EADS North America Tanker program executive in support of the Air Force KC-30 Program prime, Northrop Grumman. Jim will also assume other capture and program responsibilities.

“Jim brings a strong combination of program management expertise, business development skills, and customer knowledge – all of which are extremely valuable as we expand and evolve our U.S. presence,” said EADS North America Chairman & CEO Ralph D. Crosby, Jr.

Hvizd joins EADS North America from Raytheon’s Space and Airborne System (SAS) business where he served as Director of Enterprise Pursuits. In this role, he was responsible for identifying and leading enterprise-level new business pursuits. Additionally, Jim served as Vice President, Team JCA, leading the joint Raytheon/EADS Joint Cargo Aircraft pursuit. Prior to that, Jim was responsible for several Mission System integration programs incorporating satellite navigation, network centric communications, radar, and EO/IR sensors into various tanker, transport, fighter, and unmanned platforms.

Hvizd brings over 20 years of expertise and experience in leading prime aircraft design, development, avionics integration, and FAA/Military certification efforts. Prior to Raytheon, his experience includes six years at Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs, where he was technical director for Aircraft and Avionics Systems. Hvizd also spent six years as engineering manager for United Technologies Sikorsky.
